Fire Pit vs Fire Table: What’s the Difference?
What’s the difference you ask. It comes down to functionality and convenience. A fire table brings together two appealing features: 1) a heating source and 2) a tabletop. Essentially, a granite fire table provides a sense of luxury and style with the added bonuses of function and ease!
A fire pit table appeals to the entertainer in you. Rather than ask your guests go inside to have lunch or dinner, you can have them remain outside to eat and drink. Talk about convenience.
Seated comfortably on patio chairs, your guests can reach for beverages and snacks, and still enjoy the warmth and glow of the fire. Now, if you want further functionality, place a cover over the burner portion of your tabletop fire pit. This gives you even more space to rest platters and pitchers.
So, if you love to entertain family and friends, a fire pit table is for you. Use our online Firepit Builder to create an outdoor entertaining space with a fire pit table made in solid granite!
Our Purpose
Because memories are made around a fire, we commit to fabricating fire features that will last for years to come. Staying true to our word means using quality materials.
Granite is truly the best in withstanding extreme heat from countless fires. By using granite off-cuts to manufacture our fire features, we not only delivery quality, beauty and strength, but also save spectacular granite from ending up in landfills.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, fire tables give off heat to warm up the surrounding area without toasting your guests. The heat from a fire table is measured in BTUs. The larger the burner, the more BTUs it produces. For our granite fire pit tables, the commercial grade stainless-steel burners come in four sizes and produce the following BTUs:
⦁ Round 20” = 55 000 BTUs
⦁ Round 30” = 106 000 BTUs
⦁ Square 24” x 24” = 55 000 BTUs
⦁ Rectangle 12” x 42” = 80 000 BTUs
Yes, a propane tank fits inside the base of our granite fire pit tables. To store a standard 20 lb propane tank inside your fire table, select ‘chatting’ height. This gives you a 20” high fire table, within which you can place an 18” high standard propane tank. Check out how to assemble a fire pit table for step-by-step instructions.
Please note that a standard propane tank does not fit inside the base of our rectangular fire pit table.
Yes, you can assemble a fire table on a wooden or composite deck. Unlike wood burning fire pit, fire tables that burn natural gas or liquid propane do not produce damaging sparks or embers.
Yes, regardless whether burning natural gas or liquid propane, a fire pit table requires ventilation. Air flow allows your fire table to provide a higher flame while protecting your burner from excessive heat. To learn where to position the ventilation gaps on your granite fire table, check out how to assemble a fire pit table.
A wind guard rests on the granite tabletop to surround the stainless-steel burner. Because the guard has rubber feet, you can easily lift and remove it whenever you want.
No, you cannot cook over the burner of a fire pit table because the food’s drippings would clog the ports of the burner. Plus, our burners are UL listed as decorative gas appliances, not cooking appliances.
Yes, a fire pit table that burns liquid propane or natural gas can get wet. If your fire table is uncovered while it’s raining, there’s no need to worry. Our commercial grade stainless-steel burners feature raised ports with a pitched design. This allows water to drain to the bottom of the burner and, then, to the granite base of your fire table.
For all of our fire pit tables, the colour of the granite top is Midnight Black. You cannot change this tabletop colour. We believe Midnight Black compliments all base colours of granite. You can, though, select the finish (leathered or polished) and edging (smooth or chiseled) of your granite tabletop.
⦁ Polished Finish: A smooth and shiny surface, with a reflective appearance
⦁ Leathered Finish: A soft sheen surface, with a textured appearance
⦁ Chiseled / Raw: A rustic profile, highlighting the granite’s rugged and natural appearance.
⦁ Smooth: A straight-cut profile, offering a sleek and smooth edge.
